The President of Poland has signed an amendment to the Act on the National Cybersecurity System, which will come into force within one month of its publication. The amendment implements the EU’s NIS 2 Directive into Polish law and imposes cybersecurity obligations on key and important entities.
The Act recognizes such entities as, among others, shipowners, entities managing seaports or port facilities, as well as entities conducting activities supporting maritime transport within the port.
Key and important entities are required to self-identify and register in the relevant register.
