Great news from Polish ports – last year, despite the pandemic, they managed to achieve an impressive result of transshipments. The Port of Gdańsk SA achieved a growth in transshipments of – 53.2 million tons, the Port of Szczecin-Świnoujście SA – 33.2 million tons and the Port of Gdynia SA – 26.7 tons.
The Port of Gdańsk SA recorded the largest increase, by 11%. Compared to 2020, during which 48 million tons were handled, in 2021, 53.2 million tons were handled. Moreover, the Port of Gdańsk is the fastest growing port in Europe in the last decade, with the growth dynamics of 110%.
In the Port of Szczecin – Świnoujście SA, a total of 33.2 million tons of cargo was handled in 2021, an increase of 6.6 percent compared to 2020 (last year, moreover, the result of the record year 2018 was equaled, which is a significant achievement during the pandemic).
In the Port of Gdynia SA in 2021 a total of 26.7 million tons of cargo was transshipped, which is an increase of 8.2% compared to 2020. The Port of Gdynia is the largest agroport on the Baltic Sea, it also ranks third in terms of container transshipment – nearly 1 million TEUs in 2021.
