CMW Legal’s participation in a precedent-setting case concerning the liability of a temporary storage facility operator for a customs debt

We are pleased to inform that CMW Legal successfully represented a seaport terminal in a precedent-setting case concerning the liability of the terminal, as the operator of a temporary storage facility, for a customs debt on import, in relation to the occurrence of shortages in the bulk cargo being temporarily stored. The case was interdisciplinary in character, covering not only the EU Customs Code and its implementing provisions but also the legal aspects of the international carriage of goods under bill of lading and maritime safety.

On behalf of CMW Legal, the case was handled by Piotr Porzycki and Joanna Zinko.

Thanks to the client for trusting us with the matter and to our team for their commitment to the case.
