On 13th October 2023 regulations amending the Maritime Pilotage Regulation entered into force. The amendment of the aforementioned regulation is due to the need to adjust its content in the part concerning the training of maritime pilots for manoeuvring LNG tankers in the External Port of Świnoujście.
A number of changes are being made to maritime pilot training under the new legislation, including a change to the number of points awarded to candidates for maritime pilot training and pilot apprenticeships, updating the criteria for assessing maritime pilot candidates, improving the templates for the audit report of a maritime pilot training centre or pilot station and the certificate of recognition issued to maritime pilot training centres or pilot stations.
