Referring to our earlier post published in January this year, below you can find more amendments introduced by IMO, effective 1 January, 2023.
Amendments to Annexes 1 and 4 of the AFS Convention and a new International Anti Fouling System Certificate (IAFSC) form have been adopted to include cybutrin control. The amendments mean that an AFS containing cybutrin will not be used or reused on any ship as early as on or after 1 January 2023.
The new solutions do not apply to: (i) fixed and floating platforms, FSUs and FPSOs that were built before 1 January 2023 and that were not in dry dock on or after 1 January 2023; (ii) vessels not engaged in international voyages; and (iii) vessels of less than 400 GT engaged in international voyages, if accepted by the coastal state.
