Polish plans for development of artificial intelligence

The Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs has published a draft of “Policy for the development of artificial intelligence in Poland until 2030”. This document provides a general diagnosis of the challenges and needs related to the dynamic development of artificial intelligence. The draft identifies the Tri-City as a leading scientific and economic area, with Szczecin as one of the supporting centres.

It is natural to expect that this will involve the use of artificial intelligence solutions for shipping, port and shipbuilding industries, including the development of AI-supported marine equipment, and even autonomous ships.

For more information on specific challenges and issues related to artificial intelligence and autonomous ships, please see our publication in a magazine “Namiary na Morze i Handel” by Aleksander Karandyszowski, in which the above issues are discussed in more detail [ https://cmwlegal.pl/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/AK_Unijna_regulacja_dla_AI_NMiH_nr_05_2025.pdf ].
