On 24th<\/sup> May 2024 the EU Council adopted the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CSDD implies the introduction of due diligence obligations for certain groups of companies to counteract the negative human rights and environmental impacts of doing business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new regulations will apply to entities with more than 1000 employees and a turnover of more than EUR 450 million per year. Their operations must involve multiple levels of supply chains: from the production of goods to their distribution, transportation and storage. These companies will have to implement a system to monitor, prevent or remedy human rights and environmental damage.
