On 13 th June 2022, an amendment to the regulation on training and qualifications of crew members of sea-going vessels enters into force. The entitlements resulting from diplomas in international and coastal shipping and the certificate of senior motorman obtained in accordance with the STCW Convention in domestic shipping are subject to change.<\/p>\n

The amendment contains a number of revisions that concern both the deck and engine departments. The above is intended to separate domestic shipping qualifications and certificates from those obtained in accordance with the STCW Convention and Directive 2008\/106\/EC. Existing certificates and diplomas will remain valid for the period for which they were issued, but no longer than 5 years.<\/p>\n
