On 21st November 2022 the President of the Republic of Poland signed the Act amending the Act on maritime areas of the Republic of Poland and maritime administration. The law modifies the rules for issuing permits for the erection or use of artificial islands, structures and devices in Polish maritime areas, as well as permits for the laying and maintenance of cables or pipelines used to derive power within the meaning of the Act on promoting electricity generation in offshore wind farms.
Among other things, the new regulations introduce the rule that applications and letters in the aforementioned proceedings shall be submitted and delivered electronically. The introduced law is therefore another measure aimed at simplifying (and thus speeding up) procedures aimed at establishing Polish offshore wind farms.
The law will enter into force 14 days after being published in the Official Journal.
