The pending amendment to the Consumer Rights Act introduces a definition of digital services and goods with digital elements. The amendment regulates the sale of such services along with warranty and guarantee standards. The provider of digital services will be obliged to ensure the availability of updates, as well as to ensure the compatibility and interoperability of the software. Full version of the software cannot differ negatively from the previously published demo version. Deviation from these rules will require proof that the consumer has been clearly and explicitly informed of these shortcomings.
A long-awaited draft amendment implementing the Omnibus Directive, concerning information on the lowest price of a product or service in the last 30 days, has also reached the parliament.
